European Physical Society
We are very proud to host at DIPC headquarters the annual Meeting of the Executive Committee of the European Physical Society (EPS), that in the occasion of Passion for Knowledge 2016 it will be held in San Sebastian during the 30th of September and the 1st of October.
Created in 1968, the EPS is a not profit association of physicists for physics. A prestigious association whose members include 42 national physical societies in Europe, individuals from all fields of physics, and European research institutions. As a learned society, the EPS promotes the advancement of physics, defend the interest of European physics community and fosters international collaboration. It advocates the contributions of physics research to policy-makers and citizens as an important contributor to the economic, technological, social and cultural advancement in Europe.
EPS Outreach Award
In addition to the mentioned Executive Committee Meeting, at the closing day of the festival, the EPS will present a certificate and a official plaque to DIPC in recognition of its outstanding contributions in the field of condensed matter physics and material science, and in particular for its multiple successful outreach activities.
This prize is a real honour for us and we are very grateful to the EPS for it. It encourages us to keep on doing!
